In de maand juni zullen er een aantal presentaties van Artists-in-residence plaats vinden binnen de Vrije Academie.

Breno Fortes (Brazilië) toont zijn werk in een inspirerende presentatie in het Beeldend Platform.
donderdag 1 juli, 14 uur
Vinicius S.A. en Erivan Moraís uit Salvador de Bahía (Brazilië) geven een presentatie van hun werk in het Beeldend Platform.

Precies vijftien jaar geleden werden in Srebrencia onder het oog van Nederlandse soldaten bijna 8.000 moslimmannen door Bosnische Serviërs afgevoerd. Voor de hedendaagse geschiedenis is het een dieptepunt, voor de ooggetuigen van Dutchbat III een traumatische ervaring. Fotograaf Friso Keuris (1963) maakte een indringende serie portretten van de toenmalige soldaten.

Terug naar boven Artist-in-Residence: Arya Pandjalu
De Indonesische kunstenaar Arya Pandjalu werkt op uitnodiging van Kosmopolis Den Haag en de Vrije Academie in de maanden juni en juli als gastkunstenaar in de residentiestad. Gedurende deze periode geeft hij workshops aan kinderen en volwassenen op de Vrije Academie en geeft hij zijn observaties van de stad weer via zijn autonome werk.

GEMAK: Exhibition Friso Keuris 'Dutchbat III
5th June - 1st August 2010
Exactly fifteen years ago, almost 8000 Muslim men were kidnapped in Srebrencia - all under Dutch soldiers' watch. A tragedy for modern history; for witnesses, a highly traumatic experience. Photographer Friso Keuris (1963) has produced a profound series of portraits of these former soldiers.

Artist-in-Residence: Arya Pandjalu
Throughout the months June and July, Indonesian artist Arya Pandjalu will be working in the The Hague as a guest artist by invitation of Kosmopolis Den Haag and the Vrije Academie. During this time he will be offering workshops for children and adults at the Vrije Academie, as well as reflecting on his observations of the city through his autonomous work.
